The work verses about an act of mercy (a kiss on the mouth given to a man by another man on his death bed) and its repercussion on society. A sensasionalist news anchor and a corrupt officer make a social scandal out of the act, shaking Arandir reputation, who believes to have fulfilled the deceased wish, leading to an exacerbating of feelings which conducts to a tragic and susprising ending.
